Beauties of Curacao

On this wonderful tour you will see the beauties of the islands
nature and its beautiful coastal lines. Curacao has a lot to offer
when it comes to their natural resources. We leave town
immediately and drive to the west. During the drive you see several
beautiful estates and old free slave houses. We make a brief stop at
"Dokterstuin" Estate for a photo stop from the bus. Your
guide will give you loads of information about Curacao, its beautiful
nature and friendly people.

After this short stop, we drive to the Boca's, one of the national parks
on the island. Here you see how the wild sea meets the coast on a
spectacular way. The waves are exploding on wild rock formations.
You can also take a look in the small water cave.

The power of the sea will amaze you and also the unpredictable
waves are stunning. At West Point, enjoy a short photo stop
from the bus, where you can enjoy the beautiful view over the
Caribbean Sea and the typical Westpoint church.
The next stop is the most beautiful tropical beach on the island, with
its unforgettable azure blue sea and white beach. You can
see the tropical fish swimming through the crystal clear sea. This is
the most perfect place for making your tropical vacation
photos. On our way back, we stop at the salt lakes of Jan Kock,
where you might be lucky to spot some Flamingo's.
Next we go to the 18th century Jan Kock estate. This is the private
museum and gallery of local artist Nena Sanchez. She is
famous for her Dutch Caribbean sceneries with fascinating bright
colors in a figurative style. You can walk around and view
her fantastic art as well as purchase. The estate is decorated like a
museum and besides her art, there is a lot you can explore in
and around this house. You get a perfect idea how the landlords
used to live on these plantations. Especially the views are
stunning from the hill the estate is located. From here, we drive you
back to the ship. With this tour you see the beautiful sides
of the island. It is perfect for your most fantastic vacation pictures.

Fascinating Curacao

This tour brings you a mix of typical Curacao culture, nature and
history. Two stops, both having to do with culture, but this
is the only similarity.

When you drive away in our air-conditioned luxury bus, we make the
first photo stop at Riffort Village. From here you can see,
from the bus, the famous "swinging lady" Emma's bridge, the
colonial styled Merchant Mansions and Fort Amsterdam. Your
guide will give you lots of detailed information about what you see.
We drive to Bloemhof Estate, where you get off the bus.

Bloemhof Estate is a beautiful restored plantation house. It is one of
the smaller Plantations on Curacao. A specialized guide will tour
you around this museum and gallery. The main building (1735) is
now a meeting place for art lovers, it is an exhibit space for different
kinds of arts. In one of the other buildings you find a library with a lot
of cultural items. There is so much to see inside, but one of the
highlights you will find outside. In Dutch "Bloemhof" literally means
"flower Garden", which you cannot miss around the place. This
makes it perfect for colorful pictures. The sculpture garden makes it
very interesting to wander around in the garden.

Finally you can also find here another unique feature, a original
bathhouse, with two stone bathtubs connected to an adjoining well
for water. From here we drive to Dinah Veeris Botanical Gardens.
She or her crew will lead you around through this wonderful garden
and tell you about authentic trees and enormous variety of herbs
and their use. Enjoy these gardens and be one with nature.
You will find small cottages in the back of the garden, which gives
you an idea how the people lived in the old days. In the shop the
natural products and herbs for sale are numerous. At the end of the
tour, you will receive a nice and healthy botanical refreshment.

From here we have a scenic drive back to the ship. Make a short
photo stop, from the bus at Scherpenheuvel Monastery. We
will tell you something about the "Zuurzak" Estate, home of the
Governor of Curacao. We will show you, from the bus, the
Jewish Cemetery and some authentic colored Labor houses.

Curacao Experience

With this tour you will enjoy the diversity that Curacao has to offer. It
will be a mix between history, culture, art and architecture. Your first
stop will be at the "Open Atelier". This is a unique art gallery from a
variety of local Curacao artists.

Besides the artist, the gallery has works from handicapped people
and special needs children as well. You find the typical
Caribbean art here, which you can purchase and take home as a
souvenir from Curacao. After a short drive, you will arrive at
the impressive Hato Caves. It is home to beautiful limestone
formations, the famous Madonna statue and a colony of seldom
seen long nose fruit bats. A small path will lead you to the pre
historical Indian wall paintings. The variety of stalagmites and
stalactites are impressive. Heading back to the city center, you will
enjoy a short walking tour through the historical center of
Otrobanda.

The guide will inform you about the characteristic architecture, aging
back to the 18th century. Some buildings are now part of the Unesco
World Heritage Monuments.Your tour will conclude at the Museum
Kura Hulanda. This museum is located in recently restored
buildings and situated right at the city center harbor of Willemstad.
It's the place where Dutch entrepreneurs once traded commercial
goods. This museum exhibits the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade in its
entirety. Museum Kura Hulanda further exhibits a large collection of
traditional artifacts from continental Africa as well as African
Caribbean artifacts. From here it is a short walk back to the ship or
you can stay in the city center and cross the famous Emma Bridge to
Punda's shopping district.

Culinary Delights of Curacao

This is the ultimate experience for anyone who loves to cook.
After a short walk from the ship, you arrive in an old monumental
mansion over a 100 years old. This beautiful restored
mansion gives you a perfect idea how the business people used to
live centuries ago. Your chef will meet you there and first
you enjoy some tea or coffee, accompanied with a delicious local
pastry.

The chef will start to demonstrate a variety of Caribbean and Local
dishes that you are going to prepare together with the
other guests. After the demonstration you start to prepare the
courses step by step yourself together with a team. The chef
and the assistants will help and advise you about preparing the
food. When everything is ready, you are going to relax and
enjoy this self made delicious Caribbean three course lunch. The
lunch is accompanied by some fantastic wines that fit
perfectly with each dish.

After lunch, you receive all the recipes of the food you prepared and
return to the ship after a short walk.

Blue Bay Golf Course

Scuba Dive With Equipment
PRICE: ADULT: 109.00 / CHILD: 109.00 USD
DURATION: 5 Hours Approx.
You will be picked up from the Harbor by boat or taxi and you will
ride along the beautiful island coast for about twenty
minutes to the Toucan Diving facilities at Kontiki Beach. Your dive
masters and instructors will brief you about the dive site,
time, and safety and will distribute all equipment needed for this
tour. Valuables may be stored inside the dive shop's
classroom.

With your gear on, you will walk to the beach and enter the water at
the protected lagoon. Guided by your dive master you will
swim through the breakwater and out to the reef. A buoy and a
submerged reference marker indicate the entry point. Take time
to look for jawfish, flounder, and other small inhabitants of the sandy
bottom. The dive continues on a gentle slope, starting at
25 feet and going down to 300+ feet, but you will only go to 60 feet,
while enjoying some spectacular hard corals, gorgonians,
colorful reef fish, moray eels, and other sea life.

After the first dive of about 45 to 50 minutes, you will surface-swim
back to the dive shop, change your tank, have fruit, water
or lemonade, rest, and warm up for your second dive, which will be
on the same or opposite side of the reef - depending on the
current - at a depth of 45 feet or less. You will enter and exit the
water in the same manner as before. This tour is offered only
on certain ships.

Note: This is limited to certified divers who have been on a dive
within the last year. Certified divers must present a valid "C"
card in order to participate. Minors 12 to 15 years old must be
accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Scuba Dive Without Equipment

PADI Scuba Diver Certification Course

Most of the world is covered with water. Participate in the PADI
Scuba Diver Course onboard and discover what you've been
missing. This quick and easy course was designed with the
vacationer in mind.

The PADI Scuba Diver program is a wonderful and exciting
opportunity to explore the underwater world with the comfort and
safety of having an experienced PADI SeaTrek Dive Instructor
beside you every step of the way. Throughout the course
you'll learn the basics of diving through participation in pool dives,
knowledge development sessions and 2 exciting open
water dives in some of the best locations in the world. Upon
completion of the short course, you will be awarded the PADI
Scuba Diver certification. PADI certifications are the most recognized
forms of diver education worldwide. Your certification is
like a passport, allowing you beginner level access to some of the
best diving in the world. It also allows you to pursue further
training in diving.

While in Curacao enjoy the breathtaking beauty of one of the top
diving locations in the Caribbean. During your two open
water-training dives with your professional PADI SeaTrek Instructor,
you'll experience the fascinating underwater world.

A Short skill assessment will test your knowledge and underwater
comfort level. Once you've completed both of these dives,
you're ready to begin a lifetime of underwater adventure!
Price includes: 2 Open Water training dives and all gear; except
mask and snorkel. Successful completion of pool and academic
training required prior to the dives, which is conducted on board
ship. Scuba equipment is available for purchase at the
SeaTrek Dive Shop on board at tax and duty free prices.

Duration: 4 1/2 hrs in Curacao and approximately 12 hrs overall
including pool dives and knowledge reviews.
